| Met ingang van 1 januari 1999 zal de CBvS respectievelijk
de koersen 710 voor verkoop en 700 voor inkoop
van de US$ berekenen. Voorts zullen de koersen dagelijks conform
het marktmechanisme worden aangepast via opgaven van de banken en de cambio's |

CENTRAL BANK OPENS
ON JANUARY 1ST 1999 WITH FIXED RATE OF SF 710 FOR THE US DOLLAR
The Bank stated in its report that the Central Bank cannot
keep the rate of the Suriname guilder stable by continuous interventions.
It is also impossible for the Bank to guarantee a rate-stability if the
fundamental economic conditions are absent |
